This clip was recorded by Richard from Downbelow, a diving company in Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia, whilst diving the famous dive destination, Sipadan. Having dived Sipadan too many times to mention, this particular dive felt different as it had a buzz about it, as if they could smell the hammer head shark. A group of 6 went on the dive and moved off the reef wall to see if they could catch a glimpse of the illusive hammer heads, but after a fruitless half hour they turned to go back to the wall. Suddenly Richard got the group’s attention, waved for them follow him and dashed off into the blue. Joanne, whose camera Richard had, tried to keep up and swam frantically after him. Richard was clearly very excited, and Joanne knew he had something in his sights. Looking around her, only about 10m behind Richard, she tried to see what the excitement was about. Before long and without Joanne spotting anything, Richard turned around and they excitedly finished the dive with very little air to spare. Back on the surface and viewing the video clip, the group was very excited about what they saw whilst diving Sipadan. Joanne, who saw nothing whilst in the water, realised she never looked up...
